It was back in November 2017 that a biomedical engineering student from #Barcelona, Judit, had an idea on a chemical test to potentially screen breast cancer. She then based her bachelor thesis on that and discovered a specificity of 75%.
Later on, in 2019, she moved to #California seeking the place and time to launch the new product that she have designed. There she met Billy, they became friends and then business partners. They studied together the master on Embedded Cyber-physical Systems at the University of California Irvine. Their master thesis consisted on adding #AI (artificial intelligence) to the device, which resulted in an improvement on the classification rate up to >95%.
Nowadays, Judit & Billy keep improving and developing The Blue Box. Together with the University of California Irvine, Judit will dedicate this whole year to finding -and subsequently improving- the limit of detection of the device. If everything flows as planned, they will be launching a #startup very soon!
